Power of faith & belief explained by a 2-year-old
Faith and believing are two separate resources to living a healthy and fulfilling life.
My two-year-old granddaughter brought this subject up recently.
Yes, you heard me correctly. My two-year-old granddaughter!
She reminded me that we do not come into this world with a set of beliefs. She doesn't know what the word faith and believing is at the moment. Or does she? She has a sense of self already. She is like a sponge as she soaks up everything she sees, hears, feels and thinks.
My wife was treating her for a fever which, my wife felt, was caused from cutting back molars. Our granddaughter was crying in pain. Nothing seemed to help the pain go away, except for a dose of Tylenol.
While she was crying in pain, however, my wife asked her if she wanted to pray to Jesus to make the pain go away.
Lying in my wife's arms, she looked up at her and guess what she said?
"I don't see him."
Simple as that. "I don't see him."
It reminded me of faith and believing. One day she will understand more about those two unseen and common denominators in life, but she might already know.
I believe my granddaughter already senses faith and belief. Some would say she is one of the new Crystal children being born into the world. A Crystal child comes into the world with the understanding of certain things. Some of these children understand what the ancient sages taught us. She already knows it will be dark when the day is turning to night. She points it out to us. She knows the Sun will come out when the night ends. She's rather be in the light than in the dark.
Doreen Virtue, PhD has written several books and articles about Indigo and Crystal children.
"The first thing most people notice about Crystal Children is their eyes -
large, penetrating, and wise beyond their years. Their eyes lock on and hypnotize you, while you realize your soul is being laid bare for the child to see.
"Perhaps you've noticed this special new "breed" of children rapidly populating our planet. They are happy, delightful, and forgiving. This generation of new lightworkers, roughly ages 0 through 7, is like no previous generation. Ideal in many ways, they are the pointers for where humanity is headed . . . and it's a good direction!
"The Crystal Children have opalescent auras, with beautiful multi-colors in pastel hues. This generation also shows a fascination for crystals and rocks."
My granddaughter loves rocks. She walks down our rock-paved driveway, picking up rocks, looking at them intently. She carries them with her until she decides to chunk them aside. Crystals and rocks are a symbol of Crystal children.
While Marleigh-Ana Catherine might not be able to see Jesus just yet, she might already have the child-like faith Jesus talked about in order to enter Heaven. Laying a solid foundation to her life now and life to come is the beginning of her journey.
The lessons we learn from a child can propel us more fully into living a healthy and fulfilling life.
As we grow older we begin to process what faith and belief mean to our lives. Some of us already do. Some of us do not want to dwell on faith and belief but attempt to rationalize everything to the nth degree.
There are numerous fountains of spiritual and material knowledge though we might choose to drink from only one. While delving deeply into one discipline can lead to a strong core of knowledge, there are innumerable benefits to gleaning information from many sources. Truth can be found in anything and spirituality is a thing of many dimensions. Personal growth should involve individual awareness, testing theories, and learning through others. Because of this, much can be learned by experiencing a wide variety of faiths, rituals, practices, and individuals. In doing so, you may find aspects of various sources of knowledge that appeal to you, empowering you to customize your method of spiritual growth.
Nothing is lost when you embrace multiple paths, and much is gained. You can explore without having to immediately adhere to rigid guidelines and limit yourself to one practice. You also open your soul to finding inspiration from a great cache of locations, individuals, texts, and methods. That openness can help you both achieve an elevated sense of awareness that eclipses narrow-mindedness and be more content and accepting of the unexpected.
Maintaining a dialog with multiple teachers can lead to fresh approaches and vitality in your spiritual growth because you will always have access to multiple solutions to any problem. Learning from a variety of sources involves listening to others without prejudice, welcoming new ideas, and seeking out guidance from novel sources. You may also want to experiment on your own to develop your own spiritual techniques in terms of meditation and practices.
There are many orientations and many belief systems in the world, each offering numerous viewpoints and paths to enlightenment. There are thousands of teachers and texts from which to learn. Use your ears and your eyes, but also use your heart in choosing the sources from which you draw knowledge. Never forget that you are entitled to take the time to find your own unique path and, in fact, it can be very empowering.
